Overlapping uv islands problem. hi.i am having a problem with overlapped uv islands in the model i prepared; with "xview overlapping uvw faces" turned on sometimes thousands of overlapping uvs appear on some parts. but when i go to the uv map and do "select overlapped polygons", there are no overlapping uv islands.

Hi! when i do side by side extrusion as a expected result you get overlapping faces exactly in b w the two extruded faces, but the problem is that is there any easier fix for this than to have to go and delete the overlapping faces and use fill hole etc to get a single face there? Unable to weld vertices (no overlapping faces) i'm trying to weld these two vertices, and no matter what i do, they just will not weld. i've tried welding, target welding. i've checked for overlapping faces vertices using xview. obviously, the second image shows these two vertices now overlapping. but everything else, geometry wise looks fine.

Fillet the hard concave edge before you do the extrusion. with an edge like that, you'll immediately start intersecting geometry the moment you extrude. however, softening the edge with a fillet will give you some extra space to extrude before you encounter intersections. the more you fillet, the more you can extrude. It looks like the issue is simply double vertices in different sections of the mesh. to fix this, you simply have to select all of the vertices and then weld them with a low threshold value. start with the default of 0.1 threshold value but you may have to adjust this value depending on the size of your mesh.
