Solved Imported Geometry Wrong Nodal Intersections Autodesk Community Good morning i have imported a geometry into robot and just realized that some of the members don't intersect where they should. there are small offsets almost everywhere that are yielding wrong results. i'm wondering what would be the easiest workaround without having to re do the whole model. i'. Unjustified model imprecision resultsing in instabilities while calculation and excessive nodal displacements for when model geometry imported from cad files to robot structural analysis. model geometry defined far from robot structural analysis global coordinates system origin. example. increase tolerance for computational model generation. follow the steps. open analysis>analysis types. go.
Solved Imported Geometry Wrong Nodal Intersections Autodesk Community I've done a decent amount of searches to better understand self intersecting geometry, and i don't believe my frame here has obvious self intersecting geometry (to me, at least). to create the 3d sketch i am using, i made a number of intersection curves between a 2d sloped handrail sketch and a simple curve. Note that where you insert edges won't affect the smooth geometry of the solid model the edges just act as boundaries for the underlying surface math. it would obviously be better if we could detect this issue and do this edge insertion automatically, to give a good result in finish form without the need for a manual convert. Solid s2= linked document element in document a for element e2. step 1: filter intersected element for e1. result give e2. step 2: perform booleanoperation to get intersected solid. result null. any help appreciated. solved by jeremytammik. go to solution. report. But as you see, the adaptive familie doesn’t intersect! only the “normal” generic model families create intersections with the disc. i figured out, that there is no element geometry behind my adaptive family. the generic model families with sweeps inside have element geometries. warning: element.geometry failed.

I am designing a microfluidic device with autocad 2017 and i wanted to test its properties with cfd. however, when i import my geometry to cfd using an acis file, the lengths are completely messed up and the units are also wrong. at first, my units were in microns, but even when i change units in autocad (and scale my device to keep the same. Depending on the complexity of the imported model and the number of triangles, this process may take some time. 6. inspecting the final model: using the inspect tool, we can take a look at a section analysis, which shows a clean intersection between the two mesh bodies, with any overlap completely removed. this model is now ready for 3d printing.
